2012 Ruppert Cabernet
Every year, the Ruppert Cabernet Sauvignon from the Combsville area of the Napa Valley delivers flavors of dark red and black fruits, currants, cedar and dark chocolate wrapped in the lingering finish of French Oak. There are many layers to the Ruppert Cabernet but the art of perfectly balancing them is what our winemaker, Rolando Herrera, does best.
While the 2012 vintage is no longer available, please contact the Winery to discuss placement on the waitlist for September 2016's release of the 2013 vintage.
94 points in Antonio Galloni's Vinous: "The 2012 Ruppert is quite a bit darker and more brooding than the Stags' Leap. It boasts superb intensity and depth yet also remains light on its feet. Dark red berries, cloves, menthol, licorice and spices flow through to the inward, intense finish. There is a lot to like here."
94+ points in Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate: "Packaged in a special heavy, engraved bottle, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Ruppert is Thomas Baldacci’s homage to his father, Ruppert. The wine’s dense opaque purple color is accompanied by notes of graphite, black raspberries, blackcurrants and a hint of licorice. Full-bodied, powerful and more structured and backward than its siblings, this is a long distance runner. Forget it for several years and drink it over the following two decades."
Paul Ruppert Baldacci
Good wine, like families come from the best roots. Our family has grown strong because of the love and character of the man whose name honors this wine, Paul Ruppert Baldacci.
