90 Points, Antonio Galloni
From a classic vintage, our 2012 Elizabeth is a perfectly cellared Pinot Noir just right for your weekend on the patio!
The 2012 Elizabeth Pinot Noir is, once again, a Cab lovers Pinot - Raspberry, rose petals, classic terroir, leather, baked vanilla and subtle spice on this strong willed Pinot that turns heads for her excellent tannin extraction, fuller texture and deep rich color. This Pinot Noir from our Honey B Estate Vineyard in the Carneros is aged for 10 month in French Oak barrels to give it the perfect creaminess that an elegant Pinot deserves. The balanced acidity, good structure, and delicate tannins combine with the flavors of cranberries, pomegranate, and hints of tea to give the Elizabeth Pinot a richness that makes it the perfect food wine. This wine is delicious now, but has the ageability to be enjoyed 5-7 years from vintage date.
Sophisticated and graceful. Willful, yet fun. Elizabeth is the expression of Thomas’s devotion to and in honor of his mother, Elizabeth Baldacci.

Our Honey B Vineyard is located in the Carneros AVA of the Napa Valley. This cool climate growing region is widely recognized for premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines which are influenced by the cooling effect of the Pacific Ocean combined with summer fog, warm days, and a long, temperate growing season. We have 20.68 acres planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah and Gewürztraminer.
All of our fruit passes through a small de-stemmer and is never crushed. The fruit is harvested by hand with scissors, rather than knives, to prevent bruising and laceration. 70% whole berry fermentation with 4-7 days of cold soak and 15 – 20 days of skin contact account for a deeper color and richer flavor profile in the final wine. A gentle drain and press is followed by a gravity fed racking to barrel. Native inoculation of malolactic fermentation ensues and the wines are then bottled after 10 months in barrel.
"Classic" and "perfect" are just two accolades being bestowed upon the 2012 Napa Valley growing season and harvest. Textbook conditions saw near-ideal spring bud break, steady flowering, even fruit set, and a lengthy stretch of warm days and cool and often foggy nights during the long summer months. Late and light rains held off until Napa Valley's treasured wine grapes found optimal ripeness, bringing exceptional quality to the crush pad and into the cellar.
